Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back has been gaining quite a ton of praise from fans ever since its domestic release on June 28, 2024. The movie is based on Fujimoto’s one-shot manga of the same name. The movie adaptation of Look Back will showcase a different side to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s creativity.

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s highly anticipated movie is completely different from his highly popular shonen series, Chainsaw Man. Studio Durian took up the task of animating the movie and the visuals look completely surreal. The story follows the story of two aspiring artists, Fujino Ayumu and Kyomoto, who find an unlikely friendship through an artistic rivalry.

Hideo Kojima gave his take on how he felt after watching the anime movie adaptation of Fujimoto’s Look Back. He had very high praise for the movie, going on to claim that the movie had shaken even the creator of one of the most iconic action-adventure games to his core. In his X post, Hideo Kojima wrote:

The premiere of the movie certainly left Hideo Kojima holding Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga and anime series in high regard. However, the feeling seemed to be mutual for a majority of the fans who went and watched the preview screening of the movie.
