During a Dear Media’s Dear Gabby Podcast interview, actress Kelly Ripa, 52, opened up about her reasons for staying on the long-running talk show Live With Kelly and Ryan.

She said she feels ‘unstoppable’ in her job now and said,

“I come from a place of hopefully I don’t crash and burn today. Because it’s a tremendous amount of responsibility. I understand what my assignment is. I understand that people are counting on me sometimes.”

During their early years on Live, Ripa recalled feeling unconfident after teaming up with Regis Philbin after the departure of his longtime co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.

She revealed,

“I always go back to this a long time ago, and it was one of these dark times at work where the job was riddled with insecurity. There was a lot of insecurity for us, not just myself. When I talk about the job, I talk about myself and everyone I work with because it’s quite a group.”

She also said she considered leaving the show when she felt “very low at her job.”

Furthermore, she said,

“I was really contemplating whether or not I should leave the job, And it was a constant drumbeat. I was talking about it so much that it started to make my coworkers nervous. They were coming to me feeling scared. Are you going to leave us? I don’t lie. And I said, ‘I don’t know.’ I really have to consider my options because I’m not sure if this is a good fit for me.”

However, an encounter with a fan led to Ripa’s change of heart. The female fan handed Ripa her business card with a note on the back that said her mother was living in a nursing home with dementia. After watching her on television, she considered Ripa to be her ‘best friend.’

Ripa continued, “She sees me as the thing she can count on, the consistent thing she recognizes.”

She affirmed, “That’s when I was like, ‘OK, it matters, it does matter. This is bigger than me.'”

As a result of this incident, Ripa was stunned and decided not to walk away from that famous talk show, and now she is embracing self-assurance.

It’s no secret that Kelly Ripa loves her family very much, and she’s also a big fan of taking holiday vacations with her family and exploring the world with them. She married the American actor Mark Consuelos, 51, in 1996. In addition to her husband, Mark Consuelos, and children Michael, Lola, and Joaquin, the actress enjoys spending time with her family.

This year’s Thanksgiving party was very special for the Generation Gap star. Her updates tell her fans how her daughter Lola is doing. She is currently in Europe on an exchange program, spending a few months studying abroad instead of living on campus at NYU.

Her daughter was unable to return home for Thanksgiving. The fact that her daughter is pursuing higher studies makes Ripa very happy, but she misses her. There is usually a lot of family gathering during the festive season, but they were missing Lola this year. The couple recently visited Ripa’s daughter in London, so even though she wasn’t at home for Thanksgiving, they were glad to have spent time with her before.
