How MCU Will Place The Eternals In Their Upcoming Projects?
Now that the Eternals have debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what’s next? Here is a sneak peek into the upcoming Marvel shows and movies where an Eternal member or the entire team could appear.
Eternals And The Vast Marvel Universe
After the release of Marvels’ Eternals, the MCU’s new group of heroes could show up in some of the other Marvel’s upcoming TV shows and movies. Similar to Marvel’s current heroes, the Eternals could also be limitless. There would have been no other reason why viewers have waited this long for Marvel to bring the Eternals in the MCU. With that being said, now, the MCU fans will also wait to discover what happens to characters like Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Thena (Angelina Jolie), and others.
While Marvel’s Eternals was created as a standalone film in Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4, it is quite clear that the project was not about its characters, but beyond. Similar to that of most MCU movies, Eternals also introduced a new range of characters to the universe that can be utilized significantly in both the upcoming movie and TV projects. The only difference between the new heroes and the ex-ones is that Marvel’s Eternals brought quite a larger number of entries than usual.
With that being said, due to the demise of Gilgamesh (Don Lee), Ikaris (Richard Madden), and Ajak (Salma Hayek), three Eternals seem to be getting off the table while the other six might join in the coming future (plus Starfox). The ending of Marvel’s Eternals laid a platform for Eternals 2. However, there has not been any official statement revealed/released by the makers or its cast. Irrespective of a sequel, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has quite an opportunity to take the Eternals through plenty of projects. Here is how MCU might place the remaining Eternals in their upcoming films and TV shows –
Moon Knight
Oscar Isaac’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Disney+’s Moon Knight might bring one of the Eternals. In the comic world, it was Marc Spector who gets chosen by Khonsu to be the champion. Thus, Moon Knight might use this opportunity to explain who Khonsu is by using one of the Eternals to provide the much-needed history’s overview.
Thor: Love And Thunder
One of the most prominent scenes in Marvel’s Eternals showed up when Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) revealed that he knows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) personally. Thus, Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder might use this and the fact that the Eternals have a connection to Earth and with the Asgardian gods to bring Eternals on screen.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Reportedly, Namor the Sub-Mariner is going to play the main villain in Wakanda Forever. If that happens to be true, there is a possibility that Marvel will introduce a new corner to the universe via the kingdom of Atlantis. As a result, if Marvel dives to explore how Atlantis sunk, one or even more Eternals might show up to echo its origin story.
