“I feel like every year it gets worse”: Scarlett Johansson is Still “terrified” of Facing One Sticky Situation in Public, Despite Her Global Fame Due to Iconic MCU Role
- Even famous stars like Scarlett Johansson can feel vulnerable.
- Colin Jost's 'SNL' joke gave her unexpected anxiety.
- Johansson said every year the jokes get even terrible.
Even top celebrities with tons of fans can get embarrassed! Scarlett Johansson, known for her role as Black Widow in the Marvel movies, recently talked about a situation that still makes her anxious.
ScarJo shared how scared she gets when her husband, Colin Jost, and Michael Che stick to their Weekend Update joke-swapping tradition on Saturday Night Live. The Avengers star described the segment, where Jost and Che write shocking jokes for each other to read live without seeing them first, as “brutal.”
A Hilarious Tradition Gone Wrong for Scarlett Johansson
ChatGPT has released a new voice-assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s A.I. character in ‘Her.’ Which I have never bothered to watch because, without that body, what’s the point of listening?
While the joke might seem light-hearted to some, Johansson admitted in a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show that it doesn’t exactly make her laugh. “It’s so bad,” she shared during the interview. The actress continued:
I black out for that period of the night. I actually don’t remember it. As soon as my picture came up, I was like [screams]. It is brutal. I feel like every year it gets worse. It’s terrible.
It’s considerate because Johansson prefers her privacy and she often describes herself as introverted. Even in interviews, the mom of two seems calm and deep in thought.
Scarlett Johansson Still Gets Shaken by the Situation
Scarlett Johansson might have felt a rush of fear at first, but she soon realized how ridiculous the situation was. The 39-year-old told The New York Times:
“I think I blacked out during it. I certainly don’t get mad. I definitely am terrified that I’m going to have to go into hiding now, get a bunch of hate mail. Yet somehow, immediately afterward, I can have a beer with Che.”
This shows the problems celebrities deal with. Fame offers big chances, but it also means they’re always being watched. Even friendly jokes from close ones can feel too much when everyone is looking. Johansson’s experience shows that even the most successful people have their own vulnerabilities.
Jost and Johansson tied the knot in October 2020 and have a son, Cosmo. Johansson also has a daughter named Rose Dorothy from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac.
