“I never had a trust fund”: Gwyneth Paltrow Claims She Was Completely Cut Off By Her Rich Hollywood Parents As Nepotism Debate Rages On
Hollywood has multiple examples of how nepotism can give an added boost to an individual’s career. However, it is also one of the most negative topics regarding unequal opportunities. Celebrity kids or the ones who have rich parents are already one step ahead in comparison to someone who has to start from the bottom.
Regarding this, there is a Hollywood celebrity who is known for her tremendous talent but is still criticized for coming from a privileged family. And it is none other than Gwyneth Paltrow. The Iron Man actress has been accused of being a product of nepotism and which she has straightly denied.
Gwyneth Paltrow Denies That Nepotism Boosted Her Film Career
Although Gwyneth Paltrow is a big Hollywood actress loved for many of her roles, she has not been able to escape the talks surrounding her privileged background. Many presume that the actress is a product of nepotism drawing the idea from the information that Paltrow comes from a rich family.
And to make things clear, she addressed the claims during a BBC show Hardtalk interview bask in 2016. She began by pointing out her shock at how a tabloid magazine declared her the most hated celebrity back in 2013.
This according to Paltrow seemed to have been a consequence of the existing notion that her career was boosted due to her wealthy family. But the Iron Man actress shared that her father never helped her the way people claimed. Instead, he had told her that she was “on her own”. She further explained saying,
“I never had any supplementation, he never helped me with my rent, I never had a trust fund”
Paltrow also added that she understood why the idea could easily have inspired hatred toward her. Moreover, she assured everyone that her career began due to the fact hard work she put in by herself.
Gwyneth Paltrow Criticized For The Contents of Her Website
Apart from acting, Gwyneth Paltrow also runs a lifestyle website called Goop. Since the start, much of its content has come into question by people. From articles to products, somehow they have been able to attract negative attention and criticism.
One instance is the time when she called her separation from Chris Martin a “conscious uncoupling”. Following this, she was instantly ridiculed for using the unusual phrase in place of a simple split.
Another instance would be the time, Goop had an article on the list of its favorite toys which included a 15k 24-karat d*ldo (s*x toy). Unsurprisingly this proved to be quite controversial.
