- She has been widely recognized and celebrated after her work in Normal People.
- Twisters releases in theatres on July 19, 2024.
Even though the novel Normal People was a huge sensation among book lovers when it first came out, the eponymous show propelled the story to new heights. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, Normal People quickly became one of the most popular shows on TV.
The same popularity has thwarted Jones into the mainstream as she is next seen in the remake of the blockbuster movie Twisters with The Hitman star Glen Powell. The cast of Tiwsters is currently touring the world to attend premieres of the film and speak to the media about the much-awaited project.
Daisy Edgar-Jones’s most memorable milestone with Twisters
Normal People may have shot Daisy Edgar-Jones to stardom, but it is Twisters that helped her achieve one of the biggest dreams she ever had. For the premiere of the movie Twisters in London, the spot chosen was Leicester Square in the western part of the country.
Deemed ‘Theatreland’ since the 1900s, premiering a movie on the big screens of Leicester Square is no mean feat. Jones is super excited to have ticked off this goal from her dream list after being in the industry for quite some time. She revealed to Jake’s Takes how this is one of the most memorable firsts of her life,
I think I actually had one of my favorite firsts ever which was the premiere of this film was in Leicester Square, I grew up in London and I remember as a kid these big huge films coming to Leicester Square and seeing the big screens and like everyone crowding around and so stepping out on that carpet in Leicester Square was like whoa like how did they let me on this carpet and how did this happen so that was a big first for me.
So, the location is not just special for its grandeur for actress Jones, but also for the emotional connection that London has with her. Being her birthplace, it was a proud moment for Jones to walk the red carpet for her Twisters movie premiere at one of the most iconic movie premiere locations in London.
Jones has also been seen in more book adaptations including Where the Crawdads Sing and Under the Banner of Heaven. Her incredible acting skills and the ability to emote every emotion well have made her a standout actress in today’s day and age. She finally seems to be garnering more attention and getting recognized for her work.
Twisters brings the Iconic 1996 Movie into a Modern Context
Acting as a sequel to the classic 1996 blockbuster movie, Twisters stars Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, and Jones in the lead roles. They are caught in a huge storm and subsequently try to make it out alive. While the 1996 movie featured a meteorologist and her husband who come together to form an alert system, the 2024 Twisters features a social media star and a pair of friends who are traumatized by a past event in their lives.
The movie brings a similar situation in the modern context with a race against time-facet attached to the overall narrative. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the movie promises a thrilling, edge-of-the-seat adventure as the lead characters navigate a disaster to remain alive.
Twisters hits theatres on July 19, 2024.
