“I text Tom on the side”: Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Fame Wasn’t Enough for Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth to Include Actor in One Group Activity
The actor who gave Loki life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Tom Hiddleston, has undoubtedly achieved immense success. Because of his clever and endearing portrayal of the God of Mischief, he is well-known throughout the entire world. But Hiddleston is more than just Loki; he has an impressive list of Hollywood credits. He’s been in a few more great films, including Midnight in Paris, War Horse, The Deep Blue Sea, and Kong: Skull Island. But even with all that Loki fame, it seems like he missed out on a fun group activity with his MCU pals, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth.
Tom Hiddleston is not included in the Avengers group chat
The man who plays Thor, Chris Hemsworth, did this amazing segment on British GQ called Actually Me when he was promoting his film Extraction 2. To respond to questions from fans, he stopped by many websites. A question was posted on YouTube in response to Hemsworth’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! asking whether Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, was left out of the Avengers group chat. Hemsworth responded, saying that Hiddleston isn’t part of the Avengers text group because Loki isn’t exactly an Avenger.
Hiddleston said, “Yeh, ‘cause he’s not an Avenger. But I text Tom on the side, we have a good friendship, but yeah, Avengers text chain. Sorry, Tom.”
He made sure to point out that they text each other individually and are great pals. Therefore, even though Loki isn’t a member of the Avengers’ official text group, he still chats with his buddy Thor and they are like brothers in real life.
Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth share a brotherly bond
Tom Hiddleston first made his appearance as Loki in the 2011 film Thor, opposite Chris Hemsworth at a time when the MCU was not as popular as it is now. They transitioned from being rivals to allies in a complex but fascinating on-screen relationship. Fans adore their charm because it demonstrates that relationships can flourish even when people are not related.
Beyond the film, Hemsworth and Hiddleston have a very special bond. Even though they act out their arguments and conflicts while filming, in real life they are close friends. Hiddleston once remarked that his life underwent a huge change when he first entered the Marvel Universe. Hemsworth, with whom he had a strong connection, was someone who could fully comprehend the life-changing experience of being a part of the MCU.
The God of Mischief once said to GQ, “I made a fast and firm friendship with Hemsworth because we were playing brothers in this enormous thing, and it felt like we were brothers by the end in some way.” Hiddleston continued by stating, “He was the only other person who understood what the experience had been like.” It is evident that the two actors share a brotherly bond in real life.
Thor is available to stream on Disney+.
