While Jeff Goldblum thought he was meeting Ariana Grande for the first time on the sets of Wicked, the singer remembered meeting the actor a long time ago. When Grande was just 11 or 12 years old, she met Goldblum backstage and even clicked a photo with the Jurassic Park star.
Reminiscing knowing about this connection, Goldblum shared on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast how Grande showed him the image, and the two reconnected for Wicked. At the same time, Goldblum shared one of Grande’s songs that he particularly loves. He revealed,
I had looked up many of her songs, you know, what song I like, I think she covers it. It’s that Mariah Carey song, you know, “All I Want for Christmas is You.” I played it over and over again. I cried, it made me crazy. She’s just great.
Even though it’s amazing that Goldblum looked up Grande before shooting for Wicked and got to know more about her musical career, fans of the singer would have hoped for one of her original tracks to catch Goldblum’s attention.
