“I’m going to be a better parent”: Tom Brady Vows Never to Do a Roast Again Days After Gisele Bündchen’s Sad Reaction to the Offensive Jokes
Tom Brady’s roast, titled The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, was a comedy special that aired live on Netflix on May 5th, 2024. The show featured a lineup of comedians, former teammates, and even his former coach Bill Belichick, all taking turns playfully jabbing the legendary quarterback.
Comedian Kevin Hart served as the host of the show. He and Nikki Glaser specifically targeted Brady’s divorce from Bündchen. Following his Netflix roast, the football quarterback admitted the experience impacted his kids negatively and vowed to prioritize his role as a father.
Tom Brady Ditches Roasts After Gisele Bündchen’s Displeasure
While Tom Brady initially enjoyed the jokes aimed at him on his roast show, he now acknowledged the unintended consequences. “I loved when people were making fun of me,” he said on the May 14 episode of The Pivot Podcast, “But you don’t see the full picture all the time.”
His children, Jack (16), Benjamin (14), and Vivian (11), were particularly impacted by jokes about his personal life and recent divorce from Gisele Bündchen. The San Mateo native has decided not to participate in a roast or similar comedic event again because of how it negatively impacted the people he cares about the most. He added:
“I wouldn’t do that again, because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”
This realization has spurred the 46-year-old to strive for better parenting going forward. “I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it,” Brady stated.
Gisele Bündchen is So Disappointed by the Offensive Jokes Made at Tom Brady’s Roast
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen is not a fan of the jokes made about her past marriage to Tom Brady during his recent Netflix roast. A source close to Bündchen told People magazine that she is disappointed by the “disrespectful” way her family was portrayed on the show. The source added:
She [Bündchen] is “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show. As always, [Bündchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted.”
Some of the jokes targeted the 43-year-old directly, including one referencing her new boyfriend, a jiu-jitsu coach. Another comic remarked about Brady’s seven Super Bowl rings, suggesting one “came back” from the Brazilian fashion model after their divorce.
