One of the greatest moments in not just The Acolyte season finale but the whole show was that subtle hint towards a major Sith cameo. Darth Plagueis is lurking in the shadows, waiting to make the perfect move that destroys the Jedi in an instant.

Moreover, to compete with his dark powers, we also saw Master Yoda make an appearance, harking back to the nostalgic era when Yoda was the key driver of the Star Wars universe.

The Acolyte features everything from drama and suspense to forbidden love and the struggle to sustain power. Fans are incredibly taken by the story and cannot wait for the next season.

Showrunner Leslye Headland recently spoke to Inverse about Darth Plagueis’s entry into the show and its consequences,

Plagueis was always in the show, though. Plagueis was the plan in terms of revealing him and establishing him in live-action. My dream was always to introduce him with his hands first. Because Muuns, their forefingers and their middle finger are longer than the rest of their fingers. So always my dream was to show that first, and sort of give a little bump for those that knew.

This came as a refreshing take for die-hard Star Wars fans who are well aware of the character biologies and their physical attributes. A fandom is always gleeful when they find such intricate details added to the show that make it more authentic and credible.

Moreover, for those who didn’t know, the scene was able to pique their interest and create suspense as they were eager to know who the character was.

Even though The Acolyte has immense potential to create more seasons and set up a further storyline for the warring Siths and Jedis, showrunner Headland is not so sure if season 2 is happening.

In the same interview, she reveals that she is not certain about the future of The Acolyte. Nonetheless, the love received by the show is heartwarming. She added,

I’m not online, so my wife told me about it, and it just warmed my heart, made me feel so good. It made me feel like people are invested and love the show, which is great because I love the show. That was a lovely thing to hear, but also, I’m so proud of the show. I think that it’s, one, a huge accomplishment for me, but I also still feel invested in the story to this day.

Fans are clamoring for another season of The Acolyte, especially when it ended on a cliffhanger. Disney+ should immediately renew the show since it has done so well on the streaming platforms, being one of the most anticipated shows in the Star Wars universe.
