Iron Man Star Gwyneth Paltrow Says She Has “Long COVID” She Fights By Ingesting Non-Inflammatory Food
Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her health and the issues she has been facing lately. The Oscar-winner bared the details of her medical condition and the routine she follows to tackle the same. The 50-year-old has been facing trolls ever since she shared her questionably sparse anti-inflammatory diet with the world last month. She defended her case while also sharing her experience with perimenopause, through which she is currently going.
Gwyneth Paltrow shares her approach to perimenopause
Gwyneth Paltrow recently did a Q&A series on her Instagram Stories where a fan asked for her approach to perimenopause. She went on to share her take on the condition, where a woman’s body transitions into menopause thus beginning to feel symptoms like sleep problems, mood changes, and hot flashes.
While laying down on her bed, the Goop founder addressed her followers, saying:
“My approach to perimenopause is really just to try to have good overall health. So good gut health, sleep, hydration, meditation, kind of all the basic tenets of wellness and [be] open to more allopathic interventions as well.”
“I think people should really follow their instinct and have robust conversations with their doctors. I recently found an integrative and functional OBGYN, so that’s pretty good.”
Gwyneth Paltrow defended her starving anti-inflammatory diet
The Se7en star talked about her anti-inflammatory diet of vegetables and bone broth in an episode of The Art of Being Well podcast last month. In conversation with Dr. Cole, she shared,
“I eat dinner early in the evening. I do a nice intermittent fast. I usually eat something at about 12. In the morning, I’ll have something that won’t spike my blood sugar, so I have coffee. But I really like soup for lunch. I have bone broth for lunch a lot of the days.”
Her dietary routine was labelled “unhealthy” by several out there but Paltrow again addressed the hate during her Instagram Q&A session. She informed everyone that her diet has been specially formulated by her and her doctor to deal with COVID-19 after-effects on her body.
She explained,
“I have long COVID, and the way it manifests for me is very high levels of inflammation over time. So, I’ve been working with Dr. Cole to really focus on foods that aren’t inflammatory. So, lots of cooked vegetables, all kinds of protein, healthy carbs to really lower inflammation. It’s been working really well. This is based on my medical results and extensive testing that I’ve done over time.”
“This is not to say I eat this way all day, every day. And by the way, I eat far more than bone broth and vegetables. I eat full meals, and I also have a lot of days of eating whatever I want. You know, eating french fries and whatever. My baseline really has been to try to be healthy and eat foods that will really calm the system down.”
Paltrow had been facing brutal criticism for promoting unhealthy standards of beauty achievable only by starving oneself. She has now put all the negative speculation to rest.
