Jamie Foxx’s sudden hospitalization and subsequent disappearance from the public eye last year resulted in a lot of speculation about what could have possibly been the reason for it. For months, there was no confirmed news about his health conditions until his daughter Corinne Foxx took matters into her own hands to announce that he was recovering from his ailment.
After his hospitalization, Foxx posted for the first time on social media in July 2023, and by the end of that year, he made his first public appearance. He has addressed his health condition several times since then but did not really reveal the cause of his hospitalization. He recently opened up about his ailment and recovery in detail in a new Netflix comedy special, but claims that he still does not know what caused his brain bleed stroke.
Jamie Foxx Has No Idea What Caused His Brain Bleed and Stroke
Jamie Foxx began his career in entertainment as a stand-up comedian in 1989 and made his TV debut the next year with a role in the sketch comedy, In Living Color. His film debut came in 1992 in the comedy film, Toys. He went on to star opposite Will Smith in the biopic, Ali.
In 2004, he made history by becoming the third male to receive two Academy Award nominations for the movies Collateral and Ray. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in the latter of these for his portrayal of the legendary musician, Ray Charles. Over the years, he has starred in many high-grossing movies and earned numerous accolades including a Grammy.
Things seemed to be going well when Foxx was suddenly hospitalized in April of last year. In his recently released Netflix comedy special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was… (via Metro.co.uk), he revealed that the doctor at Atlanta Piedmont Hospital told him that had that he was having a brain bleed that led to a stroke, and if they didn’t operate on him as soon as possible he would die.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor said his sister was told he would make a full recovery but it would be the worst years of his life. As for what caused the whole thing, he said: “It is a mystery. We still don’t know exactly what happened to me.” He was filming the movie Back in Action with Cameron Diaz when he started experiencing a headache and before he knew what was happening, he was hospitalized and had no memory of the next 20 days.
Fans Speculated That Diddy Was the Reason Behind Jamie Foxx’s Hospitalization
Diddy was arrested in September on charges of s*x trafficking and racketeering by force, and his reputation took a further hit for his infamous and controversial “freak off” parties. Not to mention the lawsuit his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed against him in November last year.
There have also been theories about him being associated with the deaths of some artists, so when Foxx was hospitalized, many fans could not help but wonder if the Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down singer had something to do with it. Here is what some of them wrote on X:
Contrary to all these speculations, the Django Unchained actor has revealed in his comedy special that Diddy had nothing to do with his hospitalization (via The Independent). However, the actor did not let go of the chance to make jokes at the rapper’s expense. So, fans can rest peacefully now that they know Diddy had nothing to do with Foxx’s stroke.
