Wednesday fame actress Jenna Ortega will next be seen in Tim Burton’s smashing sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Along with veteran actors Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara, Ortega will be seen in a central role in the upcoming sequel. Ortega seems to enjoy doing horror movies, a genre where she shines the most. Talking about her role in the movie, she shared with Vanity Fair,
“I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, but I am Lydia Deetz’s daughter, so I’ll give that away. She’s weird, but in a different way and not in the way you’d assume, I would say. The relationship between Lydia (Ryder) and Astrid, my character, is very important. And it’s also really strange because it’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”
It will be fun to see Ortega embrace a dark character again. She feels the younger generation needs to witness strange and off-putting characters to appreciate their own inner weirdness. Out of the shadows of social media, people will be exposed to fresh creativity, as can be expected from Burton. In the interview, the actress also shared that the schedule for Wednesday season 2 is in full swing.
