Ray J has many fans worried after he posted a troubling message on social media. Things got heated outside a party after the BET Awards on Sunday night, which was hosted by rapper GloRilla. Then, the singer posted a long message on his Instagram, where he also shared worrying news about his mental health.
Footage shows him and Lemuel Plummer, an executive at the Zeus Network, getting into a fight. In the video, they can be seen standing close and yelling before someone jumps in to break them apart. Ray J even throws a punch, but luckily, nobody was hurt. Security guards were on hand to control the situation before Ray J left the scene.
Ray J Reveals Mental Health Crisis After Altercation
Ray J worried fans by sharing suicidal thoughts on social media after a fight at a BET Awards afterparty. On Monday morning, July 1st, the artist-actor shared photos from Power 105.1’s Instagram on his own Instagram Story (via US Weekly).
The 43-year-old wrote a long description about his experience at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. He explained that he wants to support his family but feels overwhelmed by the industry:
I’m really at a breaking point. This stuff that is happening is mind blowing. It’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality. THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID! – I FEEL BAD AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DONT WANT ANYMORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!!
The message took a dark turn from there, with him continuing:
“Before or right after I die… I promise you I will be free of it all, and the world can move on with what is real for me, no matter the consequences I have to face on the other side!”
He also apologized to his sister Brandy in the social media story.
Ray J and Lemuel Plummer’s Feud is Not Newfound
Lemuel Plummer and Ray J’s fight is part of a bigger feud. Back in May, Ray J accused Plummer of exploiting women on his network’s shows. The Mississippi native even threatened to sue him.
However, some thought (as reported by Vibe) Ray J stirred up the drama to help his own Tronix Network, but the I Hit It First star denied those claims. He said during an interview on The Breakfast Club:
I don’t like when people are doing people wrong and making them do shows for certain things that they shouldn’t. That would be foul, that would be inhumane. These are facts. I have the footage. I have a lot of stuff that he’s been doing. Now it’s time to do what we’re doing now, and that’s legally do the right thing.
Ray J appears to be going through a difficult time. The latest incident comes as he’s in the midst of a divorce from his wife, Princess Love. Back in April, when Princess Love filed for divorce, he asked the court for joint custody of their two children — 5-year-old Melody and 4-year-old Epik.
