James Gunn is Furious With Disney Plus For Streaming Mistakes in His Final Marvel Movie Before His DCU Jump
Acclaimed director James Gunn has finally made his exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is all set and working for the DCU currently. But recently there has been something that’s gone wrong with the director’s last Marvel movie and he is really not happy about it.
The director is furious at Disney+ for streaming Guardians of The Galaxy 3 in a different view. This movie is James Gunn’s last Marvel movie in which the streaming company has made mistakes. Let’s get to know the director’s frustration and the streaming mishap that happened with the movie.
James Gunn’s Unforeseen Clash with Disney Plus
After the arrival of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on Disney+, director James Gunn took notice of an error in the streaming presentation. The movie, the most recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), had previously achieved significant success in theaters. Having completed its successful theatrical run, the film was finally made available on Disney+ streaming library on August 2nd allowing fans to enjoy the movie on their devices.
Upon its release on Disney+, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was presented in an IMAX ratio, allowing viewers to experience it in a different visual dimension. However, James Gunn, the director, openly acknowledged that his personal preference for enjoying the movie at home leans towards the traditional widescreen format and this is something fans have noticed too while watching the movie. Here’s what Gunn’s reply to one of the fan’s posts was:
“Yeah the IMAX version isn’t cropped. It’s all new stuff top and bottom.”
The director didn’t seem to be really satisfied with Disney+ and as a result, Disney+ fixed the preview shots of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on the streaming service since Gunn’s comments, and now, that thumbnail does accurately display the IMAX ratio.
James Gunn’s Directorial Journey into the DC Universe
As the director has finally stepped into the DCEU, he’s quite busy with working on his upcoming movies which fans have been waiting for long. James Gunn is also the Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran since November 2022. He wrote and directed The Suicide Squad, and wrote Peacemaker, directing five of its eight episodes, and will write and direct Creature Commandos and Superman: Legacy.
Fans are super excited to watch the upcoming Superman: Legacy and with the excitement and wait there have been rumors too about the movie’s cast. Fans were shocked to know when rumors came out that an adult films actor would take up a role in the upcoming James Gunn movie. There have been a lot of posts and memes on social media so much that director James Gunn took to Twitter to confirm that he hasn’t been cast in the role and there has been no plan to cast that actor.
