Jujutsu Kaisen: Sukuna’s Reign of Terror May be Coming to an End, Making Room for Another Villain to Rise
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 260 primarily focused on Itadori Yuji and Aoi Todo clashing against Sukuna using Todo’s amplified Boogie Woogie Cursed Technique. However, the last page of the chapter surprised readers with a tease that a beloved character might possibly be back from the dead. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, fans are already celebrating the “rebirth” of Gojo Satoru.
Meanwhile, another question lingers in the minds of Jujutsu Kaisen fans: will Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, finally be defeated? The ending of the latest chapter that hints at the return of a dead character feels a bit disorienting and out of place, considering that the previous 18 chapters only focused on Itadori Yuji, slowly but surely, overpowering a weakened Sukuna.
Is Gojo Satoru Dead Or Alive In Jujutsu Kaisen
Even though it seems like Yuji has the upper hand teaming up with Todo, Sukuna is about to unleash his Domain Expansion again and take down a distracted Yuji until his attention is diverted by a mysterious figure arising from smoke, which is assumed to be Gojo’s.
However, the mysterious figure is never explicitly named, and the rough translations state that the figure Sukuna sees is “the one buried with his own hands” and “the strongest’s ghost.” With these not-so-subtle-hints and the comment at the end of the chapter that “those eyes are unmistakable,” it is nigh possible that Gojo Satoru has returned to the world of the living.

But nothing is predictable with Jujutsu Kaisen and where the character’s fate is concerned. An X user, @Miguutz recently posted that now that Gojo is dead, it is entirely possible for Kenjaku to possess the body of the strongest sorcerer alive, thus ushering in a new villain in the series as Sukuna’s fate looms closer.
Is Gojo Satoru’s Body Under Kenjaku’s Possession?
The pre-requisite for Kenjaku to possess a body is already fulfilled with Gojo’s death, so if the theory stands to be true, it is going to be quite interesting to see where the story goes. A Reddit post by user Orang-Himbleton proposes a similar theory wherein Kenjaku might have stolen Gojo’s body.

The Reddit post further explained how Kenjaku could have swapped into Gojo’s body, claiming that there are two possibilities. First, Kenjaku’s base Cursed Technique can allow him to swap unconditionally with corpses, and conditionally with alive people. Secondly, Kenjaku cast Domain Expansion, which also lets him do an unconditional swap for either a corpse or just a regular person.
Meanwhile, other fans aren’t too sure about Gojo’s return, believing that the illustration could be part of the creator, Gege Akutami’s intention to play with the fans’ emotions. Thus, there is a good chance Gege Akutami created the artwork simply to befool their readers and play with the audience. Unfortunately, readers will have to wait until the next chapter to find out the truth about this mysterious apparition.
