Keanu Reeves Surprised Even Musical Icon Dolly Parton After His Rise To Unparalleled Fame
Having made his television debut in 1984 with the series Hangin’ In, it did not take long for Keanu Reeves to establish himself as an action star, thanks to his leading roles in Point Break and Speed. He achieved greater fame for portraying Neo in the sci-fi series The Matrix. His reputation as an action hero was further solidified when he started playing John Wick in the eponymous movie series.
In addition to all these things, people might also already know that Keanu Reeves shares a strong bond with legendary musician Dolly Parton. Recently, Parton recalled that The Devil’s Advocate took her by surprise one time. This new revelation is only adding more reason for the bond they share.

Keanu Reeves Paid Dolly Parton a Surprise Visit
Being the superstar that he is, it does not come as much of a surprise that Keanu Reeves is friends with some of the most famous people in show business. However, his relationship with Dolly Parton dates back to much before his rise to stardom as his mother Patricia Taylor was a costume designer who often did fittings for the Jolene singer.
During her recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Dolly Parton recounted that she had met Reeves when he was a child because his mother “did a lot of sewing for me” at the time. This included her iconic bunny suit which she wore for the magazine’s 1978 issue. She said:
“I remember Keanu when he was just little. She would bring him over to my house when we were fitting or when I would go to the shop where she worked.”
While the Heartbreaker singer was aware that her former costume designer’s son had become famous, she had not been able to put a face to the name until Reeves decided to pay her a visit out of nowhere. Recalling the incident, she said:
“I was doing a show somewhere and somebody knocked on the door. And [Reeves] said, ‘Do you remember me? I’m the little boy that used to sit at your feet while my mama was doing [your fittings].’ And I said, ‘Oh my god!’ I knew he had become a star, but it didn’t connect to me that that was who that was.”
It must have been a nice surprise for Dolly Parton, who is only about 18 years older than Reeves. Over the years, they have talked about each other several times and have had nothing but praise for each other.
Keanu Reeves Wore Dolly Parton’s Playboy Bunny Suit
Somehow, Keanu Reeves‘ mother had managed to take Dolly Parton’s original Playboy bunny suit back home, and even let her son wear it for Halloween! That is definitely an interesting choice for a Halloween costume, not to mention that it was the original suit instead of a replica.
On an episode of Red Table Talk (via Pop Crush), Reeves explained the story, saying:
“I put on the ears and the bustier. I wore sneakers with fishnet stockings and the bow tie. I had some pretty long hair, and I was Dolly Parton as a Playboy Bunny.”
Reeves made a smart decision by swapping the heels for sneakers so that he could have a comfortable trick-or-treat experience. It would have been nice if there was a picture of him wearing the outfit, even so, it’s nice to know that the Man of Tai Chi has such a good fashion sense.
