Because of his distinctive drawl and ominous tone, Kenjiro Tsuda is frequently cast to voice antagonists with a haughty demeanor and frequently opposes the protagonists. Popular and well-known X user, @Go_Jover posted recently, stating that the day Kenjiro Tsuda was announced as the voice actor in the anime, Gege Akutami killed off Kento Nanami in the manga. Although this was revealed as a fun fact, we hardly assume there’s anything fun about it, given that this left a deep impression on the voice actor.

Kento Nanami is without a doubt one of the most notable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen among the other characters. Although he comes across as harsh and distant at first, Nanami proves to be one of the series’ most poignant and tragic characters and becomes a wonderful mentor to Yuji. Even Bleach creator, Tite Kubo, mentioned that Nanami was a turning point in the series.

As expected, Kenjiro Tsuda’s portrayal effectively conveyed Nanami’s ability to switch between being tough and caring, and even with his brief screen time, he remains one of Tsuda’s greatest roles. Tsuda manages to bring to life the character of Kento Nanami and somehow shapes him as a multifaceted character.

Sadly, the last moment of Nanami’s life serves as the spark for his development as a person, character, and purpose. Nanami works hard at everything he does, but when he sees Yuji Itadori, he gives up on fighting Mahito, a Special Grade curse. Here, the results are fatal.

But Nanami dies with a remarkably content expression on his face. In his final moments, he decides to accept his own death and place his trust in Yuji. Even though these two developments have been coming for a while, they are nonetheless extremely unpleasant.

Being one of the few sorcerers who voice complaints about self-sacrifice reflects how compassionate Nanami is despite his survival instinct. Nanami has come a long way since his debut, as evidenced by his eventual acceptance of his horrific end. His character is cathartically brought full circle by this choice.

In his last moments, Nanami finds some solace in the knowledge that Yuji is now prepared to battle as a skilled sorcerer. Even though Nanami’s death marks a significant turning point in Jujutsu Kaisen, his bravery and knowledge continue to have an impact on the remaining episodes of the series.
