Kevin Feige Comparing ‘Agatha: All Along’ to a Cult-classic 1985 Blockbuster Still Won’t Change Fans’ Minds About the WandaVision Spin-off
- 'Agatha: All Along' is set to be released this October.
- Kevin Feige likened the spin-off to the 1985 film 'The Goonies.'
- Despite this, some fans are not eager to watch the spin-off.
Marvel fans first met the mysterious Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, when she appeared as the friendly neighbor Agnes in the popular Disney+ show WandaVision. But it didn’t take long for Agnes to show her real side as a powerful witch controlling Wanda Maximoff.
Hahn’s amazing portrayal of Agatha made her a fan favorite, so much so that she got her own spin-off series, Agatha: All Along. When Kevin Feige learned about the spin-off, he compared it to a famous 1985 blockbuster. However, some fans aren’t as excited about it and have also shared their doubts online.
Kevin Feige Compared Agatha: All Along to The Goonies
Kevin Feige made a surprising revelation by saying that the WandaVision spin-off, Agatha: All Along, has a vibe similar to the classic 1985 adventure film The Goonies. In an interview with Empire, Joe Locke (the actor who’s set to play a character in the show) said:
Jac Schaeffer sent Kevin Feige a picture of the Witches’ Road set and he replied, ‘Oh my God, we’re making The Goonies.’
this show is so unnecessary

However, on her journey down the Witches’ Road, Agatha will reveal a new side that fans haven’t seen before. “We’ve seen her full of bravado and confidence,” (which is just a facade) Katherine Hahn said. There’s a deeper, broken part of her underneath. So, get ready to see Agatha in a whole new light.
Agatha Must Form a Coven to Get on the Path
Agatha will be joined by a mysterious teenager, played by Joe Locke. This young character (known simply as ‘Teen’ in the script) will help guide Agatha along the dangerous Witches’ Road.
But first, they need to gather a group of witches. The challenge is that Agatha, who isn’t trusted by others, must find a way to unite them. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer said in the same interview:
In order to go on the Road, you’ve got to get a coven together. So how does a witch that no one’s going to trust get a band of sisters together?
The show is a blend of dark magic, horror, and some unexpected musical elements. The series will have nine episodes. Jac Schaeffer and Gandja Monteiro directed several of them, with Monteiro also directing the final episode.
Agatha: All Along, will hit Disney+ in October, perfect for the spooky season.
