Canadian teen actor Gordon Cormier played the titular character in the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. His performance in the 2020 release The Stand brought him into the spotlight. He has been a part of projects including Lost In Space, Get Shorty and A Christmas Miracle. The little actor has previously worked with reputed celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg and James Marsden.

The plot of Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in an Arctic-inspired world, which is divided into four regions based on fire, water, earth, and air. Gordon Cormier Talks About His Favourite Scene From Avatar: The Last Airbender

During the promotion of the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Entertainment Weekly, teenage actor Gordon Cormier spoke about one of the much-hyped scenes from the series. While talking about one of his favorite scenes from Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Lost In Space actor said-

“I think the airbender genocide is really cool… Well, no! No! Not like that. I mean, yeah, my whole family’s dead, of course. It’s not a good thing, but watching it is going to be sick!” (He means for the airbending effects.)

Showrunner Albert Kim even mentioned that the Airbender genocide scene was not depicted in the original show for a significant reason. He explained-

“It’s a cartoon, it’s meant for kids. But I felt it was important that we see the event that creates the story of Avatar. The famous line is, ‘Everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.’ I wanted to see that.”

Actors including Daniel Dae Kim, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Elizabeth Yu, Kiawentiio Tarbell, and Maria Zhang are a significant part of the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The live-action adaptation was well received by the audience and even brought out the essence of the original series.
