SUMMARY
  • The 'Mad Men' cast has evolved into Hollywood legends.
  • From blockbuster movies to hit TV shows, they are thriving.
  • New projects, new lives—these stars are still going strong.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a decade since Mad Men wrapped up its seven-season run. Don Draper (played by Jon Hamm) ended the show at a meditation retreat, having a lightbulb moment that led to the legendary Coca-Cola “Hilltop” ad.

What started as a lesser-known AMC period drama blew up into a major cultural phenomenon of the “Peak TV” era. Set in the 1960s, Mad Men gave us a deep dive into life at a New York ad agency while tackling big topics like gender, power, and chasing the American Dream during a time of major change.

But after the finale, fans were left wondering: what’s the cast up to now? Over the years, we’ve seen them take on everything from blockbuster movies to surprising TV roles—and even hit some major personal milestones.

From Don Draper to Peggy Olson and Joan Holloway, here’s a look at where the Mad Men cast is now and how they’ve kept their careers thriving post-show.

Jon Hamm as Don Draper

Jon Hamm’s post-Mad Men journey has been pure Hollywood gold. After becoming a household name as Don Draper, Hamm has proven his range with roles in hit movies like Baby Driver (2017), Bad Times at the El Royale (2018), and Top Gun: Maverick (2022).

His personal life has been eventful too. Following his 2015 breakup with Jennifer Westfeldt, Hamm reconnected with Mad Men co-star Anna Osceola. The two got engaged in 2023 and married in 2024 in Big Sur, California—the same place they filmed the show’s finale.

Hamm hasn’t left TV behind either. He’s appeared in The Morning Show on Apple TV+ and Fargo on FX, where he plays a sinister sheriff. Up next, he’ll star in Apple TV+’s new drama Your Friends and Neighbors. Clearly, Hamm’s career—and life—are thriving!

Elisabeth Moss as Peggy Olson

Elisabeth Moss, who played Peggy Olson in Mad Men, has become one of the top actresses around. After that show, she shined in The Handmaid’s Tale as June Osborne, a role that won her a Golden Globe and a lot of praise.

She also starred in Top of the Lake, a crime drama, and The Invisible Man (2020), a psychological horror film that showed off her versatility. Moss is known for keeping her personal life private.

She prefers to focus on her work and often keeps details of her relationships under wraps. Most recently, Moss hit us with another banger, starring in the 2024 miniseries The Veil. Safe to say, she’s still out here proving why she’s one of Hollywood’s real performers.

January Jones as Betty Francis

January Jones, who played Don Draper’s first wife Betty, has kept herself busy since Mad Men ended. After leaving behind her role as the cool, yet troubled, housewife, Jones appeared in the post-apocalyptic TV comedy The Last Man on Earth, where she starred alongside Will Forte.

The show, which ran from 2015 to 2018, was a big departure from Betty Draper, but Jones proved she had comedic chops. In addition to The Last Man on Earth, Jones took on various roles in films and TV shows, including playing Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class (2011).

She also starred in The Politician (2019), a political comedy series on Netflix. Most recently, Jones appeared in the 2023 action-thriller film God Is a Bullet, where she took on a more serious, dramatic role.

As for her personal life, Jones gave birth to her son, Xander, in 2011, and while she had a very public relationship with actor Jason Sudeikis for a time, she remains relatively private now.

Christina Hendricks as Joan Holloway

Christina Hendricks, forever iconic as Joan Holloway from Mad Men, is enjoying a successful career since Mad Men. As the sharp, bold secretary-turned-partner, she wowed fans, and she’s continued to take on roles that prove her incredible talent.

One of her standout gigs was Good Girls (2018–2021), an NBC crime comedy where Hendricks played a suburban mom who dives into a life of crime with her besties. The show was a hit, letting the actress mix humor and drama like a pro.

She’s also lent her voice to movies like Toy Story 4 (2019) and appeared in TV series like Tin Star and The Romanoffs. In 2022, Hendricks teamed up with her Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm for the crime comedy Confess, Fletch, and they reunited again for a cameo in Jerry Seinfeld’s 2024 comedy film Unfrosted.

On the personal side, Hendricks’s life has been just as eventful. After her divorce from actor Geoffrey Arend in 2019, she found love again with camera operator George Bianchini. The two got engaged in 2023, marking a new and happy chapter in her life.

Vincent Kartheiser as Pete Campbell

Vincent Kartheiser, who played the ambitious Pete Campbell on Mad Men, has kept a low profile since the show ended. After Mad Men, he worked on a few TV shows like The Path (2016), Narcos: Mexico (2018), and Titans (2021).

Kartheiser’s personal life got attention when he married Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel in 2014. They kept their relationship private and even had a son in 2015. However, after eight years of marriage, they announced their divorce in 2022.

Even with his personal life making headlines, Kartheiser is still a respected actor in both TV and film, and we can expect to see more of him in future projects.

Kiernan Shipka as Sally Draper

Kiernan Shipka, who played Don Draper’s rebellious daughter Sally, has gone on to achieve great things since Mad Men wrapped up. Shipka was only a teenager when she played Sally, and she has grown into one of Hollywood’s rising stars.

After Mad Men, she starred in the horror film The Blackcoat’s Daughter(2015) and then landed the title role in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018–2020), which became a huge hit on Netflix.

Shipka’s career has continued to thrive, and in 2024, she appeared in the Twister sequel Twisters and took on a villainous role in the Christmas action movie Red One with Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans.

She’s also had guest spots in other TV shows, including Riverdale and White House Plumbers (2023). With her impressive range and growing list of credits, Shipka is proving she’s one to watch for the future.

John Slattery, who brought the smooth-talking, wise-cracking Roger Sterling to life, has stayed active in both TV and film after Mad Men. He appeared in Avengers: Endgame (2019) as Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark/Iron Man, and also starred in Spotlight (2015), which won the Oscar for Best Picture.

The actor has shown that he’s just as comfortable in dramatic roles as he is in comedy. Slattery’s also been busy behind the camera, too. He directed the 2023 film Maggie Moore(s), starring his former co-star Jon Hamm. And if that wasn’t enough, he and Hamm reunited for a cameo in Jerry Seinfeld’s 2024 movie Unfrosted.

Aaron Staton as Ken Cosgrove

He also returned to the ‘60s for the NatGeo series The Right Stuff (2020), where he played astronaut Wally Schirra. Staton’s most recent work includes Based on a True Story (2023), alongside Kaley Cuoco.
