While the Celestials have already made their presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel’s Eternals will bring a whole new life to the cosmic beings.

True Jack Kirby Celestials

In a recent interview, Nate Moore, the producer of Eternals revealed that the Celestials in the film will be absolutely different from the ones that previously made their appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also added, referring to the Celestials as “true Jack Kirby Celestials” as an updated version of them. As teased by the trailer of Marvel’s Eternals and the promos of the film so far, the Celestials look much similar to the ones designed by Kirby in Marvel Comics but with an organic look. As a result, they reflect the powers and armors of the Eternals and the general design of the Deviants.

The celestials in Marvel’s Eternals look much like the ones that appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy where the Infinity Stones were introduced to the team by the Collector. Additionally, the producer also mentioned that the Celestials will showcase all their glory in the film. He also mentioned that while being in the Collector’s lab, the Celestials were not as huge as they were supposed to be and that is why they looked much different than the original Kirby designs. That is why they are made giant and much more appealing for Marvel’s Eternals.

The New Celestials Will Be Different

As mentioned by Nate Moore, the Celestials in the Guardians of the Galaxy also included Ego, which was slightly different from the comic canon. This is exactly what made Peter Quill another complicated wrinkle. However, Moore failed to explain how so many of iterations will be considered in Eternals, but it is quite certain that the new Celestials will look much different than the previous ones. With that said, the severed head also looked different in Eternals, considering its head’s size.

In Marvel Comics, both Deviants and Eternals are created by the Celestials. It is perhaps the race that protects the Eternals from getting indulged in human affairs – until and unless the Deviants are themselves involved.

Marvel’s Eternals will hit the theaters on November 5, 2021.
