Matrix 4: Everything We Know So Far
Details are out to give us an idea about Matrix 4.
The tentative release date of Matrix 4 has come out which is May 21, 2021. This is the first-ever Matrix movie since The Matrix Revolutions came out in 2003. The resources have been scarce, but it gives us a chance to expect a thing from this long-gestating sequel.
The Director
Lana is also working on the screenplay, co-writing it with novelists Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell.
Lana will return to help the team while Lilly won’t. Warner Bros is seeming to be okay with only one of the present. Toby Emmerich says he could not feel happier to be re-entering The Matrix with Lana.

Directed by Lana Wachowski, The Matrix 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick and Jonathan Groff.
The Cast
Fans can rest assured that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss will be returning for their roles as Neo and Trinity respectively.
Seeing that both characters seemingly died in The Matrix Revolutions, its anyone’s guess as to how Lana will revive them, but given the series’ farfetched conflation of improbable technology and mysticism, it isn’t too hard to swallow how they could return.
Unfortunately, they will be reprising their roles from the original trilogy for this installment. Weaving reportedly was asked by Lana if he’d like to reprise his role of Agent Smith, but his performance run of The Visit conflicted with the shooting schedule and they decided to go on without him.
These include Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jones, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as newcomers. Like the film’s plot, none of these roles have been disclosed.
Production and Release
While the film still doesn’t have an official title, shortly after its announcement, Warner Brothers gave it a release date of May 21, 2021.
That release date certainly rose eyebrows, as it also happens to be the scheduled release date for another sequel in a popular action franchise starring Keanu Reeves: John Wick 4.
People were quick to ask if the studio intended for the two films to compete.
Now it’s uncertain if Matrix 4 will see its originally scheduled release. We already know that the film’s production has already been put on halt because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The film could very well lose a release date because of this.
