From snatching Prince Harry from his family to soiling the reputation of the Royal family, Markle has allegedly caused a lot of pain and heartbreak. However, one of the most ugly and repugnant things she has allegedly done is to abandon her father, Thomas Markle.
The same father who brought her up despite all sorts of challenges. Many lament that she would’ve been a waitress today; if not for the sacrifices and love of her father, who she cruelly abandoned. Their shocking and bitter separation from the royals in 2020 has haunted the senior members of the royal family since Markle and Prince Harry left the UK. Their relationship became more contentious with the royals when the pair released their six-part Netflix docuseries and a bombshell memoir.
According to recent reports, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, is now making a public statement to reconcile with his daughter. In a recent tell-all interview, Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, talked about his wish to reconcile with his daughter.
Before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, the Duchess of Sussex had a close relationship with her dad. When she was a kid, her parents divorced, but growing up, she shared a strong relationship with her father. Their beautiful bond turned sour when her dad allegedly released their handwritten letters in the media. She recalls the incident in her highly controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Talking about her dad’s attempt to leak their private letters, Meghan Markle said,
“We called my dad, and we asked him, and he said, ‘No, absolutely not.’ I said the institution has never intervened in anything for us, but they can try to go in and kill this story. But if they do this once, we’re not going to be able to use that same leverage to protect our own kids one day.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attempted to contact her father on multiple occasions. ET obtained a text message from Prince Harry in which the royal prince urged Markle’s father not to reveal any details about their relationship.
Meghan Markle’s Feud with Her Father
Meghan Markle is doing well in her life. She is done with the royal family drama and focusing on parenting her kids with Prince Harry. According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex will not be attending the upcoming coronation ceremony of Prince Charles.

Amid the ongoing drama between the royals and Markle, her father has now come forward to make amends with his daughter. In a brutally honest interview with Australian News, Thomas Markle claimed he is ready to fix his relationship with Meghan Markle. He said,
“She killed me and then mourned me. I refuse to be buried by her. I wish that we could sit down and talk. If she doesn’t turn up for a stroke if that doesn’t move her, what would?”
Meghan Markle’s half-sister, who also appeared in the same interview, said that without their father, the Duchess of Sussex would still be a waitress.
Thomas Markle is still around, and the Dutchess can still fix things. There are several strong arguments that can be made for Meghan Markle to patch up with her father. It would give her a much-needed PR win and would get her a powerful ally on her side, but most importantly, her father deserves to be treated well and looked after by his daughter, for whom he sacrificed and did so much.
