Mel Gibson To Play The Lead In The Action Thriller ‘Hot Seat’
EXCLUSIVE Info Regarding Mel G’s Role:
Mel Gibson is back in hero mode for Hot Seat, a thriller in which he will feature and which will begin filming on November 1 in New Mexico. Grindstone Entertainment, a Lionsgate subsidiary, will handle North American distribution, while Highland Film Group will handle international sales. The film will be directed by James Cullen Bressack. He most recently directed Fortress, a film starring Murray and Bruce Willis that is now in post-production. With Bressack, Randall Emmett and George Furla are producing. The illustration is based on a story by Leon Langford and Collin Watts. Gary Raskin and Alastair Burlingham will serve as executive producers and co-financiers. Lionsgate is publishing it as part of Emmett and Furla’s long-term contract with the studio.
The Hot Seat’s plotline is as follows:
An ex-hacker is driven to break into high-level banking institutions in Hot Seat by an unidentified guy who puts a bomb under his workplace chair. Gibson portrays the man who has to break into the booby-trapped building in order to pull the young man off the hot seat. Emmett has been working as a director since his debut in Midnight in the Switchgrass, and he is currently in post-production on Wash Me in the River, starring Robert De Niro, John Malkovich, and Jack Huston. Emmett and Furla worked on The Irishman, Silence, and Lone Survivor as producers.

“This is our third film with Mel, and we couldn’t be happier to keep working with such a famous and amazing artist,” Emmett and Furla stated. Gibson is represented by APA and lawyer Leigh Brecheen.
