A brand new character has been revealed by NetherRealm Studios for Mortal Kombat 11. This will also be a new character to the whole series: a fighter named Kollector. For now, we don’t know much about the character, but the Creative Director on the series, Ed Boon has stated the character as “kombo beast”. He’s also a loyal and proud servant to Outworld Empire, who can kill anyone to advance his power and status. In short, he’s a baddie.

Going by what the Studio has revealed about the character in Mortal Kombat 11, alongside the debut gameplay trailer of Mortal Kombat, Kollector looks like a high skilled one, or someone who demands a huge amount of technical skill. This means that all low key players will love to smash button with him.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release on April 23 via XBox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Unless you own Switch in Europe, you may need to wait until May 10 to play the game.

Here’s the Mortal Kombat 11 review (via Comicbook.com):

“First off, the combat (Kombat?) feels wonderfully balanced. You can set up combos with ease and execute special moves pretty handily, such as Sonya’s energy rings and Scorpion’s traditional “get over here!” spear, although it’s obviously better to pull them off with a D-pad than an analog stick because of accuracy. That’ll no doubt make people that own fightsticks happy.

“Secondly, the flow of combat is smoother than Mortal Kombat XL, based on the sessions we had. New and old combatants mix it up beautifully here, barely missing a beat with their offensive moves. And defense plays its part as well, particularly with counters and the ability to execute a Final Blow to help turn things back in their favor”.
