Mortal Kombat 2 Is Moving Ahead With the Moon Knight Writer
New Line Cinema is all set to test its might with a Mortal Kombat sequel to the live-action adaptation that was released earlier this year.
As reported by Deadline the new film will be co-written by Jeremy Slater, who also happens to be the head writer of Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight series. It is actually primed to kickstart from the last film, which went on to be a pandemic era hit while opening at the first spot in the box office, even ranking among HBO Max’s top movies of all times.
The first film in the Mortal Kombat series was defined by excellent action scenes, self-aware humor, and”some gnarly fatalities.” It went on to become a hit with the fans of the series, who still look back on the version released back in the 90s with fond eyes.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s Moon Knight is also preparing to release on March 30th on the Disney Plus network. An official trailer was released by Marvel last week, and a synopsis is also available now.
While Mortal Kombat 2 does not have a release date yet, while you wait, you may check out all of the Easter eggs and references from the first Mortal Kombat film.
