Mushoku Tensei Season 3 is just around the corner, and it may just become the series’ best season so far. The events that will unfold in the upcoming Asura Kingdom arc will certainly take the storyline to another level. Turning Point 4 and Rudeus’ second meeting with Orsted will have a major impact on his role in the narrative.
Following the events of Rudeus’ father’s death in the Labyrinth Arc and Sylphie giving birth to their first child in the Season 2 ending, the story will immediately set the stage for another series of challenges. But where exactly will the narrative pick up in Season 3 from here on out?
Where Will Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Pick Up the Story?
As hinted by the preview teaser trailers for Mushoku Tensei Season 3, Episodes 1 and 2 are expected to cover Eris’ Training Arc, followed by her reunion with Rudeus. This carries heavy narrative weight, since we know how integral Eris’ character has been in Rudeus’ early life. She has also been off-screen for an entire season, working on herself to become a more independent woman.
Thus, this arc will show us exactly how Eris’ training went and how strong she has become. On the other hand, Season 3 is also expected to cover the Everyday Life Arc from the light novel, showcasing Rudeus as he navigates his new life alongside his loved ones. However, this one may not last for too many episodes, as what comes after it is more worth looking forward to.
If the anime follows the light novel’s story progression, then the Summoning Arc and the Human God Arc are what come next. So, there’s a fair possibility that both will be adapted in Season 3. As Nanahoshi makes significant progress in her research, the shocking truths surrounding Hitogami will be revealed before long. That’s why it’s widely considered one of the best arcs in the series.
Will Season 3 Adapt the Full Asura Kingdom Arc?
Following the Human God Arc, the light novel moves into the Asura Kingdom Arc, which is one of the most crucial story arcs in the series. Reportedly, since Mushoku Tensei Season 3 is expected to be released in two parts (per several social media claims, including a tweet from prominent leaker @d0nut2x on X), with Part 1 having 14 episodes and Part 2, 13, the Asura Kingdom Arc may be split between the two cours. In fact, the light novel arc itself is divided into two parts.
Thus, the first few episodes of Season 3 may have a slower pace, but as it moves toward the Human God and the Asura Kingdom arc, we can expect a more high-octane plot. Also, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we only get Volume 16 (Asura Kingdom Part 1) adapted in the first half of Season 3, and the rest will be adapted in Part 2. Still, this is mostly speculation, so take this information with a grain of salt.
What Happens in the Asura Kingdom Storyline?
This is going to be the series’ most political and action-packed arc. For the first time, the narrative will cement Rudeus as one of this isekai world’s most influential figures. After the events of the Human God Arc, Rudeus will join hands with Orsted and be asked by him to help Princess Ariel Anemoi Asura reclaim the throne of the Asura Kingdom.
This will be pivotal to the series’ upcoming Laplace War Arc. However, restoring Ariel to her rightful position will come with many obstacles. One of them would, in fact, be the legendary Dragon King Perugius Dola. In the process, the corruption within the royal court will also be exposed. Even the legendary Water God Reida Reia will get involved in the storyline, and when things escalate for the worse once again, Orsted will intervene. Thus, Season 3 will greatly raise the stakes.
When & Where Is Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Releasing Online?
Season 3 of Mushoku Tensei is scheduled to be released on July 5, 2026. Interestingly, the first two episodes of the season, comprising the Eris’ Training Arc, will be released consecutively (via the anime’s official site). Also, similar to the prior seasons, Season 3 will be available to watch online, and episodes are expected to be released on the platform soon after their Japanese television release.
