“My thoughts are with you. If you need to talk, give a call”: Jon Cryer Tried to Help Charlie Sheen After the Two and a Half Men Actor Was Arrested
Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen starrer Two and a Half Men had a good run before the sitcom was put to an end in 2015. However, Charlie Sheen’s journey as Charlie Harper ended in 2011 due to the drastic changes in his behavior after he started getting involved in substance use. His behavior not only led him to lose the lead role in one of the most popular TV shows but also took a toll on his career. But his co-star Cryer still wanted to be there for him. The Pretty in Pink star talked about Sheen during an interview and said that he tried to reach out to him.
Jon Cryer Tried Reaching Out to His Co-Star
Jon Cryer worked with Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. As he worked closely with the Platoon star, he was able to notice the changes in his behavior after his arrest in 2009. Cryer talked about his co-star during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Cryer shared that he found out about Charlie Sheen’s arrest while he was celebrating Christmas with his family. The Hiding Out star made up his mind to stay away from the internet and spend the festive season with his family. However, when he checked a news site he found that his co-star has been arrested for “spousal battery.”
Jon Cryer shared that as soon as he found out about it, he texted Sheen, “Dude, my thoughts are with you.” He also mentioned in the text to give him a call in case he needs to talk to someone. “If you need to talk, give a call; if you’ve got bigger problems, call me when you get back,” he shared.
However, the Young Guns star replied with a joke and Cryer assumed that he was fine. During his interview, Jon Cryer said that it was obvious that his co-star was not in his best form at the time.

Jon Cryer Wanted Charlie Sheen to Sober up
Jon Cryer also shared that he wanted Charlie Sheen to get back on track and clear his mind. Cryer said that once the Wall Street star’s manager asked him to talk to Sheen, he happily accepted the offer. He said, “I told him I would be happy to but that it sounded like Charlie wasn’t sober anymore, and I hoped he’d get on track again.”
He also shared that the whole situation was complicated as Sheen was his close friend but the allegations made against him were also very serious. Not just his manager, but the producer of the show, Chuck Lorre, also asked the Dudes star to put some sense in Sheen. However, he was not able to have a conversation with Charlie Sheen as he went to rehab the next day.
