One of the most loved anime series One  Piece based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga of the same name is finally getting its live-action version. The series is created for the streaming platform Netflix and will be releasing the first 8 episodes this year as per reports. Last year, the streaming giant gave out a first-look video of the upcoming live-action series.

And recently the story’s protagonist Monkey D. Luffy’s (Luffy) live-action outfit was revealed at the Netflix Tudum Global event. There is not much difference in Luffy’s overall look, however, small modifications have been included nonetheless.

As everyone is gearing up for the live-action One Piece by Netflix this year, the streaming giant has recently revealed the exact outfit that the live-action Monkey D. Luffy will be donning. It is similar to what Luffy usually wears, the signature straw hat, red vest, and blue shorts. Recently at the Tudum global event in Brazil, the streaming giant provided a look at the whole outfit.

The only difference is that the live-action Luffy will be wearing shoes instead of his usual sandals as in the manga and anime versions. Before this, the streaming giant had also revealed the look for the ship (Going Merry) that Luffy and his team use for traveling toward their quest.

As far as it goes, the ship has been recreated as close to the original design as possible with Luffy’s Jolly Roger also decorated on the ship’s mast. According to the reports, Netflix has promised not to release anything until and unless creator Eiichiro Oda gives his full approval. Oda is also a part of the live-action production work.

Last year, a brief first-look video of the live-action One Piece was released by Netflix. And now all that is left for the upcoming series is to have its trailer dropped as soon as possible.

The Story of the Straw Hat Boy revolves around his voyage aboard Go Merry with his team to find the greatest treasure that possibly exists. Left by the legendary pirate Gold Roger. Monkey D. Luffy is a boy that accidentally eats the devil’s fruit ending up with the power of elasticity.
