The 1975’s frontman, Matty Healy, caused a stir about getting engaged when his girlfriend, Gabbriette Bechtel, shared a cryptic message online. After a Charli XCX concert, the model wrote, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” with a diamond ring emoji.
But does that ever happen when the talks of Taylor Swift‘s exes are stirring and her name doesn’t come up? Fans were quick to congratulate the couple, with some joking about Swift, saying, “Taylor’s still waiting for a ring!”

This announcement came on the same night Healy and Bechtel attended a Charli XCX show in New York. Right after goofing around with memes on his account, The Sound singer reposted the photo of the ring. Later, Bechtel also posted a selfie in front of a mirror, showing what seems to be the ring on her left hand.
Who is Matty Healy’s Girlfriend, Gabbriette Bechtel?
Gabbriette Bechtel is an American model who has worked with brands like Diesel, Bottega Veneta, and Skims. She is also a musician and was the lead vocalist of the punk rock band Nasty Cherry – formed by English pop singer Charli XCX.
Bechtel and Healy were first spotted together in September 2023. The couple have been seen together at various events since then, including New York Fashion Week and The 1975 concerts (per People). The 26-year-old has also gained attention for her cooking videos on Instagram.
Healy’s mom, Denise Welch, has also interacted with the Cali native on social media. In October 2023, Welch commented on an Instagram photo of the model wearing a leather apron, saying “That’s exactly how I hope to look in mine when it arrives!!” In February 2024, Bechtel also appeared in a family photo that Welch shared on Instagram.
