Obi-Wan Kenobi is masterfully guided by Ewan McGregor,” wrote Nick Schager of The Daily Beast. This sentiment is echoed by Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times, who wrote, “Some 17 years after McGregor was last seen as Obi-Wan, he brings more depth, more of world-weary wisdom to the role. It’s commanding work.” That said, some critics are levying criticism against the show, like Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com. “This kind of forgettable storytelling just doesn’t last like the properties that inspired it,” he wrote.

While reviewing the Star Wars series, CBR’s Blake Hawkins wrote, “As expected, Ewan McGregor does an outstanding job of portraying the “broken” and “faithless” Jedi master… In a noticeable improvement from The Book of Boba Fettthe series doesn’t get bogged down by a slow-developing plot. By the time Part 1 ends, everything is set in motion.”
