When you think of Hollywood’s bright young stars, you might imagine them with their eyes glued to the latest Marvel blockbuster or debating the finer points of Star Wars lore. But for Louis Partridge, who’s stealing hearts as Olivia Rodrigo’s beau, the universe of superheroes and galactic battles is a galaxy far, far away.

Partridge has come clean, admitting he’s never seen these mega movies and, honestly, he’s not exactly jumping through hoops to watch them now. In short, the star is not exactly booking a front-row seat to the action!

Instead, the actor finds solace in roles that are a bit more grounded. But what if the superhero cape might have been the perfect fit? Partridge’s candidness about avoiding such big franchises left us wondering: is he charting a course for his career, or is he dodging a potential golden ticket?

In an interview with GQ, Louis Partridge hinted that a blockbuster superhero role might not be his cup of tea. In fact, he’s never even watched any Marvel or Star Wars movies, and he’s actually quite content about that. As the 21-year-old put it:

I came close to doing something just like that. If I’m honest, I’m very glad I didn’t. So far I’ve been lucky not to be too tied; the only IP or franchise would be Enola, and I love that world. I’d do it again. That kind of thing suits me, but I never really watched things like Star Wars or Game of Thrones. God, no. Maybe I just have no imagination, but I really struggle with things like that.

His confession might sound like heresy in a world where every actor dreams of a Marvel Cinematic Universe slot or a role in a Star Wars saga. But for him, it’s a matter of personal taste. The young actor has clearly set his sights on different horizons.

Rather than flying through galaxies or fighting off intergalactic threats, he’s opting for roles that align more with his own values and interests. Though, it’s surprising, but for Partridge, skipping out on the superhero hype feels like a smart move. Instead of just dodging the big franchises, he’s actually making sure his career stays fresh and true to what he loves.

For Louis Partridge, acting isn’t just a job—it’s a personal adventure. He sees it as a way to discover new facets of himself. “I quite enjoy the idea of being able to step outside myself,” the London-born star said in the same interview, looking back on his journey.

This bravery really stands out in his role in Pistol, where he underwent a major makeover—fake teeth, a Cockney accent, and a grueling diet. Partridge explained that the real trick is balancing self and character, not just making dramatic changes. It’s about blending different parts of himself into his roles while staying connected to his inner child.
