Chris Hemsworth may have put down Mjolnir for good, but he’s not done exploring his range and being a part of exceptional projects. Out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, our beloved Thor is going beyond back-breaking action and exploring the realms of drama and fantasy.

His latest role is with Anya Taylor-Joy in Furiosa; A Mad Max Saga, which is set to delight the fans of the Mad Max series. A prequel of sorts, the movie delves into the past of young Furiosa and her life-changing journey across the wastelands, eventually ending up at the Citadel. Hemsworth plays Dr. Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Horror is a genre best explored by indie production houses and independent filmmakers because it needs a certain kind of freedom to induce jumpscares that mass production houses usually stay away from. A gem of a horror movie was made by such independent visionaries including Danny Philippou, Michael Philippou, and Bill Hinzman who collectively wrote and directed Talk to Me. The Australian movie was released with the title The Hand in some regions.

When BuzzFeed caught up with Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy on their press tour for Furiosa, the Thor actor expressed that Talk to Me was one of his favorite movies that he watched last year. Subsequently, it’s making him want to work in a horror movie. In the iconic puppy interview, he said that he admired the Australian guys getting together to make the film that they wanted.

Hemsworth further added that the movie was really cool and advised people to watch it if they haven’t already. It won’t be the actor’s first horror rodeo as he has previously worked on The Cabin in the Woods where he played the lead character Curt Vaughan. Directed by Drew Goddard, the movie went on to be massively successful, hence proving that Hemsworth is a worthy actor in not just action, but other diverse genres too.

The Australian actor is on a roll with his next project already set to release soon. He is voicing the iconic character of Optimus Prime in the animated movie Transformers One. The film explores the past when Prime and Megatron were inseparable brothers and not sworn enemies as we know them today. Hemsworth is joined by his MCU colleague Scarlett Johansson and Brian Tyree Henry in the movie as voice actors.

There has been news on Hemsworth being a part of a biopic made on wrestler Hulk Hogan which would be directed by Todd Philips. However, no official confirmation has been given on the same. Hemsworth is more than interested in working on the project and he seems to be waiting for the final go-ahead to start shooting.
