Chris Pine starrer Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a film based on a pen-and-paper RPG that was released in March 2023. It could not perform well at the box office, but Paramount Pictures still shows interest in a sequel project. Well, whenever a film or a tv show’s sequel gets a green signal, that’s because the film has been profitable. Keeping that in mind, it’s worth thinking about why Paramount Pictures want to take a chance by creating the sequel to the underachiever film, Dungeons and Dragons.

Since the film based on the Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game was announced, it has seen the involvement of several writers/directors and even production companies, starting with Warner Bros. However, the final shot was taken by Paramount Pictures.

Is Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Sequel officially confirmed?

At the time of writing this article, the creators of Dungeons and Dragons have not yet officially announced a sequel. Reportedly, the directors of the film never intended to create an entire D&D franchise, as they always wanted the film to be a standalone project. But seeing the positive response from the audience, they feel that there’s a high possibility for a sequel.

Moreover, as Paramount Pictures’ CEO has made up his mind about the sequel project, we can surely get to hear an official announcement soon. Besides that, the 2023 film adaptation of D&D has left doors open for a second part, and despite the film’s failure at the box office, several fans out there look forward to getting more of the characters and story on the big screens once again.

On top of everything, now you may think that as the first D&D film took several years to arrive, whether the sequel (if announced) will follow the same pattern. Well, there’s no need to worry about that, as the project will not take this long.
