Peacemaker Will Have Special Features on HBO Max, Confirms James Gunn
We already got a confirmation yesterday that “every episode” of Peacemaker on HBO Max will have post-credit scenes, and now writer/director James Gunn has also offered another new piece of information about his upcoming series that already has many fans excited. When he was questioned by a fan if there would be special features on the media release of Peacemaker, James Gunn stated that “You’ll be able to watch special features on HBO Max.” While this isn’t totally out of the ordinary for the streamer, which has several featurettes and other BTS footage for the original films that have premiered on the service, it’s really good to know that the upcoming DC series will also have some.
Peacemaker will be James Gunn’s first venture into TV
Starting up from the ending of this year’s The Suicide Squad and focusing on John Cena’s hero, Peacemaker will be James Gunn’s first foray into television. The first three episodes of Peacemaker will premiere on January 13, with the remaining five episodes arriving weekly post that, only on HBO Max. Cena will be joined by fellow The Suicide Squad cast members including Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland alongside newcomers Robert Patrick as Aggie Smith, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, and Freddie Stroma as DC’s Vigilante.

“Peacemaker is an opportunity to delve into current world issues through the lens of this superhero/supervillain/and world’s biggest douchebag,” Gunn said when the series was announced. “I’m excited to expand The Suicide Squad and bring this character from the DC film universe to the full breadth of a series. And of course, to be able to work again with John, Peter, and my friends at Warner Bros. is the icing on the cake.”
“I have said before that it has been a tremendous honor and an incredible opportunity to be part of The Suicide Squad and to work with James on what is going to be a fantastic movie,” Cena said. “I am unbelievably excited to have the chance to team up with him again for Peacemaker. We can’t wait for fans to see this.”
Other cast members in HBO Max’s Peacemaker include Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, Annie Chang as Sophie Song, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Turn, Rizwan Manji as Jamil, and Elizabeth Faith Ludlow as Keeya.
