“People have been prosecuted for those threats”: Amid Alleged Conflict With Royal Family, Meghan Markle Receives Disturbing Threats
The tensions between the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and the Royal Family have increased as her rumored memoir is expected to contain sensitive information about the family. Even her husband, Prince Harry, is also working on a memoir that is set to be released soon. Sources have revealed that Meghan Markle has continued to receive serious threats after rumors claimed that she is trying to defame the royal family. The couple has called out the family in the past as well, specifically during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Many people have claimed that they are constantly attacking the Royal Family in order to stay relevant.
Meghan Markle is receiving serious threats
The assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Neil Basu, has revealed that the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has received some serious threats online. He revealed that the threats are “absolutely genuine” and they are being investigated. He said,
“If you’d seen the stuff that was written and you were receiving it … the kind of rhetoric that’s online, if you don’t know what I know, you would feel under threat all of the time.”
The assistant commissioner further added that the people have been prosecuted on the basis of such comments and they are investigating the matter.
Meghan Markle’s memoir is rumored to be released soon
In the past, the Suits star claimed that she hasn’t signed any contract that stops her from talking about her experiences when she was living within the royal walls. In one interview, she said,
“It’s interesting, I’ve never had to sign anything that restricts me from talking. I can talk about my whole experience and make a choice not to. It takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything.”
She has also hinted in her old interviews that she found a lot of her old journals and is compiling them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have called out the Royal Family in the past
In 2021, the couple sat down with the famous Oprah Winfrey for an interview and called out the Royal Family, sharing experiences they had when they used to live with them. Prince Harry revealed that his father, King Charles, stopped financially supporting him after he abandoned his duties while Markle accused Kate Middleton of making her cry during the week of her wedding. The bombshell interview increased the tensions in their relationship with the family.
