Prediction: Xbox Scarlett And PlayStation 5 Could Cost $400 Each
While Both Sony and Microsoft have revealed their next gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett respectively, they haven’t yet divulged information about other salient features like the PlayStation 5 price, Xbox Scarlett price or the release date. In regards to the later, we do know that Xbox Scarlett will be releasing on holiday 2020 and presumably the PS5 will also be releasing within the same time frame. But when it comes to talking about how much the two systems will cost on the pocket, we don’t have a clue. But according to some analysts, you should be ready to shell out $400 for each. This is said to be cheaper than what many are expecting the two consoles to ring up at.
Analyst Predicts That Xbox Scarlett And PlayStation 5 Could Be Priced at $400 Each
According to the predictions of industry analyst Michael Pachter, the two systems will avoid the half-a-grand price tag. Pachter believes that the specs of the system suggests that they will cost $500, but he thinks both Sony and Microsoft are ready to eat those costs up front in order to push the units.

Pachter said to GamingBolt regarding the cost of the next Xbox and PS5:
“The specs suggest $500 or so, but my bias is that Microsoft will announce $399 and Sony will follow suit.”
Pelham Smithers, another industry analyst had also claimed earlier this year that both the consoles will go for $400.
But having said all that, there are also rumours that the PS5 is more powerful than Xbox Scarlett, which does beg the question about whether it will cost more. It could, but it’s also important to keep in mind that the PS4 was more powerful than the Xbox One and yet it was still $100 cheaper at launch.
Could The Xbox Scarlett And PlayStation 5 Cost Upwards Of $500?
There also has been speculation about the two systems costing $600 or higher but that seems kind of improbable simply because coming in at more than $500 is a terrible idea, optically atleast. Moreover, its not like the market is exactly yearning for the next round of consoles, people are very content with their PS4s and Xbox Ones.
