Severance, the mind-cudgeling sci-fi thriller directed by Ben Stiller, left audiences on a terrible cliffhanger. After Adam Scott’s diversion into the Madame Web world, fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of Season 2. Created by Dan Erickson and Aoife McArdle, Severance is a sci-fi mystery and quasi-religious thriller series.

While Apple TV debuted a host of exciting new series, including Pachinko and Slow Horses with Gary Oldman—and returning favorites, like Shrinking, fans still anxiously await word on Lumon Industries’ destiny. Even upcoming projects like Natalie Portman’s Lady in the Lake and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Presumed Innocent can’t quite quench the thirst for answers of Severance Season 2

At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, a first peek at Season 2 was revealed, although the exact launch date is still being kept elusive. With his innie/outie memories supposedly restored, the teaser teases Mark (Scott), running through the sterile hallways while holding bright blue balloons. But his expression is anything but happy. Get ready for something different; watch the new video below!

The major questions remain: Will Mark be able to find comfort? Will the mystery surrounding Lumon be solved? Not only does Season 2 promise atonement for the show, but maybe even for Scott. BUT director Ben Stiller has made incredibly exciting claims, stating that none of the fans have correctly solved the series’ mystery yet! Like WOW, what’s the plot gonna be like?

Director Ben Stiller claims he hasn’t seen a single fan correctly solve the mystery yet

Severance Season 2 had previously revealed a plethora of new cast members, including Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Ólafur Darri Ñlafsson (The Tourist), Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), John Noble (Fringe), Alia Shawkat (Search Party), and Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia). Alongside them will be returning cast members Christopher Walken, Jen Tullock, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Zach Cherry, and Jen Tullock.

Director Stiller said to Entertainment Weekly that not even one fan has correctly guessed the plot of the second season. Even Scott himself said that the storyline is completely under wraps. Stiller revealed,

There are these very obvious questions that were posed at the end of season 1 that we understand people are wondering about and feel a responsibility in some way to make season 2 a satisfying experience for them in regards to that and in the world of the show. But I’m fascinated that no one has figured out the puzzle yet!

If you believe you know where Severance is heading—nah, you don’t! With recent claims made by the director and cast, nobody has (yet) figured out the series’ interesting theory. But we shall soon, with season 2 set out to release. Watch the series, Severance, only on Apple TV Plus!
