Shazam! Fury of the Gods Released New Concept Art
DC Fandome has released some new concept art, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will feature new otherworldly creatures. The first Shazam! film, directed by David F. Sandberg, was released in 2019, and it was an instant hit with audiences thanks to its lighthearted tone and sense of comedy. The film followed the adventure of troubled orphan Billy Batson as he learns the ability to transform into an adult superhero following a run-in with an ancient wizard’s staff.

Shazam! 2, which is set to be released on June 2, 2023, has already concluded filming in Atlanta. Sandberg already hinted that Shazam! 2 will be substantially wider in scale than the first film. This theme was brilliantly conveyed in the film’s BTS teaser at the DC FanDome, and now, freshly disclosed concept art suggests that the sequel will further immerse the plot in mythology and fantasy.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Shazam! 2’s panel at the DC FanDome on Saturday provided an exclusive peek at the new mystical monsters that would appear in the film through concept drawings. Dragons, harpies, manticores, and cyclopes are among the monsters depicted.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods appears to be expanding its wings beyond the scope of the first film. Not only are the creatures new, but Shazam! 2 also takes you to some interesting new locations, such as the Realm of Gods, the Library of Eternity, and the city of Athens.
This is most likely because the locations are linked to the new villains in some way, so viewers can expect a lot of action to take place there. Furthermore, the tale appears to concentrate around an old sword, as it was heavily stressed in the DC FanDome BTS teaser. The weapon’s, locations, and monsters’ implications within the wider DCEU are still unknown, but fans may learn more about them in the coming months.
The next Shazam! the sequel appears to be heavily influenced by Greek mythology. Of course, the antagonists are Greek gods, and the Harryhausen-inspired creatures are all based on Greek mythology and literature. The material is now too abstract to make sense of, but if all the parts are put together, Shazam! 2 might tread a path that straddles both a superhero and high fantasy territory. There’s still a long way to go until Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be released in theatres soon, but in the meantime, fans may enjoy this fantastic artwork.
