The footage also sees Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Tim Roth appears as Emil Blonsky/Abomination and Jameela Jamil playing the role of Titania. Apart from jokes about dating in the 30s, the video also features a sequence where Walters is seen talking about how a typical “superhero” looks, stating billionaires like Tony Stark and “adult orphans” like Batman. The trailer also confirms the release date of the show as August 17, debunking recent reports that She-Hulk had been pushed to late 2022 or early in 2023.
Here’s the official synopsis of the series:
The synopsis for She-Hulk was shared in a Disney press release, explaining that the series follows “Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro, and Jessica Gao. Co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.”
The development of a She-Hulk series for Disney+ was announced by Marvel Studios at D23 back in 2019. Maslany, whose credits include Perry Mason and Orphan Black, was brought on board in the titular role. Being a part of Phase Four, She-Hulk will be the eighth MCU TV series on the Disney streaming service. At the moment, we don’t know if She-Hulk will be renewed for a second season.
She-Hulk In Marvel Comics
The character was created by John Buscema and Stan Lee, first appearing in Savage She-Hulk #1 (1980). In the pages of Marvel comics, Walters receives a blood transfusion from Bruce Banner, who is also her cousin. Due to this, she gains some of his abilities, although she can control her personality in a better way. Over the past few years, She-Hulk has been a member of teams like Fantastic Four and Avengers.
Created by Jessica Gao, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will release on August 17 only on Disney+. Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9 is directed by Kat Coiro while Anu Valia will helm episodes 5, 6 and 7.
