Contestants on Netflix’s new reality competition Squid Game: The Challenge have sparked controversy by allegedly using lubricated c*ndoms as chapstick. Player 301, aka Trey, confirmed reports that players resorted to the unconventional hack when provided no normal lip balm.

As per Entertainment Weekly, according to Trey, Squid Game: The Challenge players received small toiletries like toothpaste upon arrival but no chapstick. When using lotions and conditioners on their lips didn’t help, some apparently turned to the c*ndoms freely available.

“Within a day, maybe a day and a half, all the c*ndoms were gone. It was absurd. And it still didn’t work,” Trey said. 

Players even received numbered chapstick tins later after speaking up. But for some, the damage of dry, cracked lips was already done.
