Obi-wan Kenobi was what most experts would call a Jedi of extraordinary talent. He became famous in particular during the Star Wars prequel trilogy when he trained Anakin Skywalker as his apprentice and master. He wasn’t only famous for being one of the few remaining Jedi left whose order 66 hadn’t killed off completely but also because he was responsible for killing X1’s favorite character General Grievous. Of course, he is best known though for being the man who brought an end to Darth Maul, beheading him in front of a fully armed Sith Lord with only second-rate tracking skills.

Even though the Jedi Master’s accomplishments on behalf of the galaxy might appear to be prodigious, he isn’t always victorious every time out. These are the 5 Jedi who are better than Obi-Wan Kenobi and could defeat him –

Mace Windu

Star Wars: Mace Windu

Mace Windu was perhaps one of the most powerful Jedi that ever existed, easily taking down a Sith Lord and an army of droids. He had no peer in his time and bested Darth Sidious with only his power of the Force. While Obi-Wan Kenobi may be skilled in many fields, Windu would be his superior if both reach their full potential with the force.

Star Wars
Star Wars: Yoda

Despite (or perhaps because of) his tiny stature and strange way of speaking, Yoda was still a Jedi who commanded great respect from the other members of the council. This was shown when he cast out Count Dooku; an act that even Anakin Skywalker described as “impressive”. If Yoda had decided to find Obi-Wan challenging during their battle on Geonosis, Kenobi would undoubtedly have met a swift defeat against the Jedi Master’s mastery over the Force and swordplay skills.

Star Wars: Rey

It’s safe to say that Rey had no formal training with the Force. Yet, she learned more about it than Luke did during his training under Yoda. In fact, his own mentor was so impressed by her abilities once he arrived on Ahch-To that he decided that she would not need any additional instruction as it might be too much for her at this stage. It seems like she could easily defeat Obi-Wan if they ever crossed paths against each other.

Luke Skywalker

Star Wars
Star Wars: Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker naturally took to the Jedi ways with little instruction and growing up under stressful conditions. With only minimal training, Luke developed his powerful Force skills into becoming one of the greatest Jedi Knights of all time. He is undoubtedly better than not only Obi-Wan but many other characters as well.

Star Wars: Revan

Among the most interesting characters to come from the vast arsenal of Star Wars expanded universe lore, Revan stands out as someone who has proven a wildly successful part of the franchise. Revan is one of those few characters for whom a good story seemingly writes itself. With that being said, Revan can easily defeat characters like Yoda or even Obi-Wan.
