Stephen Colbert’s Daughter Met Swift at Grammys

On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host shared an incident that made him a die-hard fan of Swift.
“I’ll love Taylor Swift ’til the day I die,” he said. “I would put on armour and follow her into battle.”
Before Colbert, his daughter Madeline fell in love with Swift and was amazed to meet her at the 2008 Grammys ceremony. During this time, Swift was beginning her career and was not that big a star, still her down-to-earth demeanour and her delight at meeting Madeline was unparalleled. The Late Show host introduced his daughter to Swift, who in all her kindness, swept up Madeline and appreciated how beautiful she looked. This left Madeline awestruck and indeed made Colbert dad of the year.
“She turns around and goes, ‘Pretty girl!’ and comes and puts her arms around her and goes, ‘Oh you look amazing!’ She just praises my daughter for how she looks for, like, 30 seconds.”
Any Taylor Swift fan would be left confounded after such an interaction with the pop star. Seeing Swift embrace his daughter with such love made Colbert a Swiftie for life. He can never forget how kind she was to his daughter and how she made her entire day.
