Stranger Things Season 5 Could be its Funniest Season Ever if it Adds Adam Sandler’s Co-star From a 2017 Comedy to the Cast
The hit Netflix show Stranger Things is ending its run with a fifth and final season. The Duffer Brothers created the show, which became a huge success for Netflix. Fans have loved watching the adventures of Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, and the rest of the talented cast since 2016.
There might be some extra laughs in store this season though! A rumor is going around that singer Alfred Matthew Yankovic best known as “Weird Al” Yankovic might be joining the cast. He is famous for his funny parodies of songs, especially from the 80s (which is when Stranger Things takes place).
“Weird AI” Yankovic Possibly Joining Stranger Things Cast
Big news for Stranger Things fans! A photo recently surfaced on Instagram showing “Weird Al” Yankovic hanging out with Stranger Things stars Finn Wolfhard (Mike) and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin). The caption, “Yesterday was pretty bizarre, but stranger things are happening today,” has everyone wondering – is Yankovic joining the cast for the final season? For sure!
While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it does make sense. As already mentioned, the singer is known for his parodies of popular 80s hits, just like the time period Stranger Things takes place in. Dustin, one of the main characters who loves everything 80s, is actually a big “Weird Al” fan in the show itself!
So, with all these clues, maybe the appearance of 64-year-old in the show won’t be too surprising! One thing is for sure: Yankovic could bring a fresh wave of humor to the final season of Stranger Things, making it the funniest one yet.
What Could “Weird AI’s” Yankovic Play in Stranger Things Season 5?
There’s no clue whether “Weird Al” Yankovic will join the fight against Demogorgons and the Upside Down, but an appearance by Yankovic could take several forms. A cameo featuring him as himself wouldn’t be far-fetched, especially considering he previously portrayed his 80s persona on the comedy series The Goldbergs.
Perhaps Yankovic could be shown performing at a concert in Hawkins or appearing on a television screen within the show’s world. These are just a few ideas, and with all the secrecy around season 5, anything is possible! Beyond the Lynwood native, fans can expect to see some new faces in the upcoming season. Remember Sarah Connor, the character played by Linda Hamilton from Terminator?
Now, the actress is officially part of the cast, but who she’ll play is still a mystery. Stranger Things loves bringing back stars from the 80s. This season is no different, following the trend set by actors like Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street), Paul Reiser (Mad About You), and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride).
While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, Stanger Things season 5 is expected to hit Netflix sometime in 2025.
