With so many isekai anime, each featuring absurdly overpowered characters, narrowing the list down to just 10 of the strongest is no easy task. The abilities of these characters are often beyond human comprehension, and some are even extremely creative, to say the least. As a result, determining who would defeat whom across different isekai series also becomes an interesting debate.
Now, assuming everyone unleashes their full potential as depicted in their respective storylines, these 10 isekai characters stand above the rest, ranked from comparatively weakest to strongest. So, without further ado, let’s check them out.
10. Cid Kagenou – The Eminence in Shadow

Cid literally defines the word “aura.” Not only is he the strongest being in his world, but the way he approaches every fight in the series always humiliates his opponents. Of course, he has magic, which is a given, but on top of that, he is even a master swordsman with a sharp battle sense. Some of his feats in The Eminence in Shadow are not only overwhelming within his own series but also among the most impressive in isekai anime. But since he doesn’t really possess reality-warping abilities, we had to rank him at the bottom of this list.
9. Ainz Ooal Gown – Overlord

When it comes to simply using magic, Ainz is inarguably the strongest of all mages. Because of him, even Rudeus from Mushoku Tensei could not secure a place on the list. Ainz knows hundreds of spells, which are paired with his devastating super-tier magic. Some of them even have instant-death abilities. In the Overlord anime, Ainz remains the indisputable GOAT. But again, his powers are mostly restricted by the limits of the YGGDRASIL game system. Thus, he ranks only 9th on the list.
8. Mochizuki Touya – In Another World with My Smartphone

Now we have Mochizuki Touya, a rather laid-back isekai protagonist who was blessed directly by God, allowing him to use his smartphone in the isekai world to break the limits of its power system. By the end of the series, Touya effortlessly defeats god-level threats while piloting divine mechas, all with the help of his smartphone alone. This may sound wacky, but it is also extremely creative. That’s why it’s never not fun watching Touya in action. Still, in terms of overall strength, he cannot be ranked higher than 8th.
7. Makoto Misumi – Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy

Makoto’s mana pool is so huge that he can never be defeated, no matter how strong his opponent is. His defensive spells are already almost unbreachable. Although much of his true strength hasn’t been revealed in the anime yet, the end-of-series Makoto from Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy light novels exists on a different level. In fact, while he was summoned as already the strongest, with each story arc, we even see his powers growing significantly, making him deserving of the 7th rank.
6. Satou Pendragon – Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Though his true strength has not been shown in the anime yet, the hints are already there as to why Satou is one of the strongest isekai MCs of all time. After all, right at the very beginning of the anime, he reached max level and gained limitless stats, along with mastery over every form of magic in the story. This much wasn’t even granted to Makoto. That said, even taking Satou’s end-of-series powers into account, he still can’t really match the reality-bending powers of the top 5.
5. Altair – Re:Creators

The power system in Re:Creators is already broken, but then we have Altair. She technically possesses limitless power. Her presence itself threatens reality. How exactly? Based on how her audience thinks of her, Altair can gain new abilities without clear limits. So, as it sounds, she could easily rank higher on the list, you might be thinking. But as shown in the series, relying heavily on outside recognition also somewhat limits her potential. Still, she is easily ranked in the top 5 here.
4. Shiraori Kumoko – So I’m a Spider, So What?

The start of So I’m a Spider, So What? presents Kumoko as just another overpowered MC in the series, just like many other isekai anime. But the reason she swiftly claims a spot in the top 5 is her sudden spike in power after evolving into a true deity. She is the first character on the list who surpasses the power limits of her own isekai RPG game world. At some point, Kumoko even fights the gods of the isekai world on equal footing, to say the least.
3. Rimuru Tempest – That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Rimuru’s growth in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is not instantaneous, but the way he could master everything he learned throughout his journey made it inevitable for him to become the strongest. By the EoS, he eventually evolves into one of fiction’s, not just isekai’s, most broken protagonists. Feats like creating and destroying universes, manipulating space-time become a walk in the park for him. Still, funny enough, Rimuru is only ranked 3rd on the list for good reasons.
2. Lufas Maphaal – A Wild Last Boss Appeared!

Ordinary concepts of space, time, and reality remain at the palm of Lufas. It’s crazy how an underrated isekai anime, A Wild Last Boss Appeared!, blessed us with such a strong character. While Rimuru has never been proven to do damage to creatures beyond the isekai world, Lufas can certainly overwhelm cosmic entities. With her insane feats and canon powers as depicted in the series, she can overpower almost every isekai character, but still ranks second because of one anomaly!
1. Yogiri Takatou – My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered
Yogiri doesn’t even look all that threatening. Appearance-wise, he is just another average OP isekai protagonist. However, the ability he is granted cannot be compared to that of most fictional characters ever written. As the title of the anime suggests, Yogiri can put an end to every being in existence if he wishes to.
It is not merely an attack but more like a conceptual authority. Immortals, time manipulators, and reality warpers all fall victim to him, as this power has no boundaries whatsoever. Thus, Yogiri appears like a wild card and takes the crown as the strongest isekai character with much ease.
