Sue Dearbon- More Than Just An Arm Candy
When, Eric Wallace, the showrunner of The Flash said that Sue Dearborn “might not be the woman that Ralph is expecting” and; his every word, was right till its core to its meaning.
As Disclosed
As disclosed by Eric, this was very much the case when Ralph came face to face this week, with Sue Dearborn, played by Natalie Dreyfuss on the CW superhero drama. Also, Actor Natalie Dreyfuss discussed her relationship while playing Sue, with Ralph Dibny. The Man, won’t just have her getting to end up as merely Ralph’s “arm candy.”
Comic Debut
The comic incarnation of Sue Dearborn could be said to be quite different from her onscreen debut. When we talk about the comics, the character of Sue Dearborn first appeared in 1961 in The Flash #119. The actor appeared as a New York socialite, in the issue titled, “A Girl Named Sue”. However, now it is revealed that her status as a socialite is merely a cover identity. In reality, she is a cat burglar, a clever cat girl who tricks Ralph Dibny into helping her to steal a diamond that is in someway undoubtedly connected to this season’s significant threat, Black Hole.
Reaction to the Change
Even Dreyfuss was not aware of the twist, as she told EW in an interview this week. She exclaimed that “It was kind of like I was landing on the plane, and they were like, ‘Hey, we’re going to the leather store,’ and I was like, ‘What do you mean? I have like a cool jacket?'” Dreyfuss said. However, the new catsuit brought another twist in the game. The actoress found the outfit so refreshing that she couldn’t wait to wear it. Moreover, it also gave the character more of her touch.
Conclusion:
Sue has got several layers. So these are coming out a little more and more in each episode. We’ll soon find out, what’s her motive here, and how will their relationship be? We’ll quickly get to see some more of the natural chemistry as our hero, The Flash digs even deeper this season, into the mystery named Sue.
