‘Supernatural’ Stars Talk About Series Finale, Say That It Will Be Worth The Journey
Supernatural is perhaps one of the longest running drama shows in TV history. For 15 years, the brothers have chased demons to hell and back, but it’s finally time for Supernatural to come to an end.
The upcoming season will be the last for Sam and Dean Winchester on The CW. This news has left millions of die-hard fans around the world grieving. The on-screen Winchester brothers themselves have something to say about the upcoming series finale.
Jared Padalecki And Jensen Ackles Talk About Supernatural Finale
At San Diego Comic Con, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles talked about the final episode of Supernatural to TV Line. Jared said that it will bring peace to the beloved brothers when all is said and done. He said:
“I feel like Sam and Dean find one version of peace. Whether or not that’s alive or dead, or if Amara possesses me or whatever the situation is, I feel like they find more peace than when the season starts.”
It certainly looks like Padalecki is happy with the way Sam and Dean’s story comes to an end. But it did take his on screen brother a little time to accept their fate. Jensen Ackles said that:
“When we were in the room and the idea came down the pipe, everybody was kind of signed off on it. My reaction was more like, ‘OK, OK.’ I struggled with it for about a week or so, and then I realized I’m too invested, I’m too emotional. To see anything with finality on it. It’s hard to digest. I talked to a few people about it and got some clarity on it and have tried to look at it from a different perspective. I, now, have come around to being like, ‘This is a really good ending. This is satisfying.'”
Supernatural Co-showrunner Talks About The Finale Of The Show
So it looks like fans will be satisfied with the ending and that’s great news for people who have stuck with the show for 15 years. But this doesn’t mean that it will be a happy ending for everyone.
Co-showrunner Andrew Dabb said that:
“You don’t want to leave people feeling hollow. You don’t want to leave people feeling cynical. That doesn’t mean the ending is always happy and everybody is high-fiving, but it means that the journey was worth something and came to a place that makes everyone feel it was, again, worth kind of taking the trip.”
Overall, all their statements have left us ominously positive about the ending of the show. We really can’t wait to see how 15 season of Supernatural culminates.
