“That is unbelievably exciting for us”: Kevin Feige’s Formula For Restoring Marvel to Its Glory After Inside Out 2 Reassured Him of One Fact
- Kevin Feige is optimistic about Deadpool and Wolverine's opening in theatres.
- He commends Inside Out 2 for reviving the movie going experience for fans.
- Deadpool and Wolverine releases on July 26, 2024.
There are two major events in store for superhero fans and comic book fandom. The first is the highly awaited San Diego Comic-Con and the other is the release of Deadpool and Wolverine, a movie that finally brings together the Fox Marvel characters with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The man at the helm of it all – Kevin Feige, could not be more excited for the same.
Marvel has had a slow run lately, with newer projects failing to garner the same love and appreciation from fans as the earlier phases. Nevertheless, Marvel is not one to back down from a fight and neither is Feige.
What is Kevin Feige doing to restore Marvel’s fandom?
Even though a few projects have done less than well in the past, this is not to say Marvel has lost its relevancy. The superhero studio is still very much a zeitgeist of society and has kept up with popular culture. With Deadpool and Wolverine releasing soon, Kevin Feige and Marvel hope that the movie gets its deserved attention and love from the fans.
As well-loved characters, Deadpool and Wolverine have managed to get fans all excited for the longest time. Now, as the X-Men finally enter the MCU, the stage for new opportunities opens up manifold. Talking about how movies like Deadpool and Wolverine can add new life to theatres and urge people to go out to watch them, Feige told Deadline,
I’ve never been a big believer in superhero being a genre in and of itself. We made films that are based in graphic narrative format originally, but we make different types of movies, and I think the answer to that question is the same answer to movies in general: making engaging, entertaining films that have to be experienced in a theater with a crowd and is worth people getting into their cars and making the trip.
The trailers and teasers for Deadpool and Wolverine have broken records and made the movie one of the must-watch flicks of recent times. The suspense of what happens in the story coupled with the hilarious chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is going to make the movie legendary.
Inside Out 2 has revived the movie-going experience
The Marvel showrunner further added how Inside Out 2 has managed to pull people out of their homes and offer them an experience unlike anything else. The movie did not promise grandeur or majesty on the big screen, but some heartwarming moments that are best enjoyed with people around you. Feige added,
People have been going to movies this summer with Inside Out 2, and that is unbelievably exciting for us as it reminds people what a joy that can be going to theaters, and people seem very excited to see Deadpool and Wolverine onscreen. I think the experience that it’s going to give to people and hopefully encourage people to go see it again and again, that’s our job.
It seems like Marvel is finally arriving at the pulse of its projects and understanding what they need to do in order to make the studio chart number 1 again. With the biggest Comic-Con also on the horizon, fans can expect great things from Marvel again and hope they don’t drop the ball again.
Deadpool and Wolverine hits the theatres on July 26, 2024.
