During an interview with a reputed media outlet, Hugh Jackman spoke about the X-Men director Bryan Singer and the se*ual misconduct allegations made against him and how he loves being in front of the camera.

Hugh Jackman became a renowned face globally with X-Men’s Wolverine. He was approached by Bryan Singer to play the character of Wolverine in the first movie of The House of X-Men in 2000, which went on to become a colossal commercial hit. With 13 films the superhero franchise flourished in all directions.

The franchise faced a major blow when filmmaker Bryan Singer was accused of se*ual misconduct by a minor. During an interview with the media outlet The Guardian, Hugh Jackman was asked whether these allegations on the director have changed the way he looks at the movies from the billion-dollar franchise, to which he replied in a very diplomatic way. He said-

“You know, that’s a really, really complicated question. There’s a lot of things at stake there. X-Men was the turning point, I believe, in terms of comic-book movies and I think there’s a lot to be proud of.”

He further added-

“And there’s certainly questions to be asked and I think they should be asked. But I guess I don’t know how to elegantly answer that. I think it’s complex and ultimately I look back with pride at what we’ve achieved and what momentum that started.”

Hugh Jackman announced his retirement from the X-Men universe in 2017, but he would be seen reprising Wolverine in the third installment of Deadpool. Reportedly, Jennifer Garner would be featured as Elektra in Deadpool 3.

Hugh Jackman was introduced into the world of entertainment with X-Men’s Wolverine in 2000. Over the years the actor has been a part of reputed projects. During an interview with The Guardian, the Australian actor expressed his love for cinema and theatre. He mentioned that he is the happiest when he is on the stage. He said-

 “I like all the chaos and I can feel very calm within it.”

He was drawn towards the theatre as a child. While talking about his childhood, he said-

“Oh, no. I don’t care about any of that,” he says. “I think it’s the silliest thing ever. It’s crazy. I grew up at the time when the women danced on a dancefloor in a circle and the men stood on the outside with a beer and I was like: what are you guys doing over here? The women are all down there with their handbags in the centre dancing around. I’m like: this is easy pickings, there’s not one man on the dancefloor!”

Hugh Jackman is one of the most well-behaved actors in Hollywood and over the years there has been controversy regarding his behavior on the set, in public, or with his fans. While addressing behavior in Hollywood, the actor said-

 “I’m not always nice. I’ve had my moments on set, for sure, when I haven’t been nice. And I’ve behaved sometimes on set where I’ve yelled a bit or done something where I’ve been angry that I’m not proud of.”

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds Deadpool 3 is set to hit the theatres on May 3, 2024.
